About Mrs. Anna

Suzuki Violin Teacher

Welcome! My name is Anna Hogas, and I am a violinist and certified Suzuki Violin teacher based in the Cleveland area. I am passionate about sharing the joy of violin with my students and their families, and I love the Suzuki Method for its natural, immersive approach and proven success in developing well-rounded musicians.

As a fully registered Suzuki Violin Teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, I received my Suzuki Pedagogy training under Kimberly Meier-Sims as part of my graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages, from young beginners as early as age 3 to adult learners.

My own musical journey began at age 7, when I fell in love with the violin. I went on to earn a degree in Violin Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying with Marilyn McDonald and minoring in Historical Performance. I continued my graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where I studied Violin Performance under Jessica Lee of the Cleveland Orchestra and Philip Setzer of the Emerson String Quartet. As a performer, I have played with ensembles such as the Firelands, Canton, Akron, and Snowbelt Symphonies.

Beyond performing, my greatest joy is nurturing my students and watching them grow in both character and ability. I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential through music.
